Overview

The latest Pokemon game! Although Midori is mainly looking forward to the continuation of the Pokémon LEGENDS series...

A dear friend gifted me Violet for my birthday, so I played it thoroughly! Here are my thoughts up to clearing Area Zero.

Starting Lineup

Here's the team I cleared the game with.

...Actually, it was just the first two, Rabifutto (Libero) and Umbreon. These two alone were enough to break through everything.

  1. Send out Umbreon.
  2. Load it up with battle support items.
  3. Baton Pass to Rabifutto (Libero). This one takes them all down.

That's it. Rabifutto took care of all the battles in Pokemon SV. It was so strong that I had no motivation to use the others. I didn't evolve Rabifutto into Aceburn because Rabifutto is cute. It was still enough to clear the game.

Dress Up

I love being able to dress up! My character wore high-end Belder brand items. The leather backpack, tights, and loafers were all Belder items. I thought tortoiseshell-patterned glasses would suit her, so I chose another brand for that.

The Adventure

It's always exciting to encounter new Pokemon. Like this↓, the "Really???" kind of stuff is interesting.

But, of course, "Pokemon + Open World" has already been perfectly demonstrated by Pokémon LEGENDS. I wish they'd bring that quality to this game. Well, it's just that I really love Pokémon LEGENDS.

The story was great! The structure of having three main paths—Champion Road, Stardust Street, and Legend Route—was easy to understand and enjoyable, and the way the three paths converged into one was so thrilling! My friend who gave me the birthday gift said "the story was good," and they were right.

Other Thoughts

  • Terra Stall: This is fun! No complaints!
  • Terra Raid: Extremely stressful...? Having a time limit in battles and the timer advancing even during forced animations is cruel, isn't it? The UX was terrible.
  • Walking with Pokemon: This, this! I love this element that was missing from Pokémon LEGENDS! Good!
  • Let's Go: Being able to skip battle scenes was nice, but the movement felt a bit sluggish.
  • Picnic: I didn't do it.
  • Overall sluggish performance: Having already experienced the smoothness of Pokémon LEGENDS, and playing **
