Overview

Let's dive into our annual review article. Here's last year's edition:

What Kind of Year Was It?

  • At the beginning of the year, I embarked on a long-overdue camping trip.
  • Started studying for the Eiken Pre-1st Grade exam with a friend.
  • Dove into smartphone games for the first time... such as Gakuen iDOLM@STER and Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
  • Migrated Midori HP's server and began exploring React.
  • Continued my exercise routine, of course.

As noted in last year's review, my daytime job was encroaching on my personal life, making things quite tough. However, this year, I managed to balance it well, allowing me to engage in various activities harmoniously.

Good Habits

Let's summarize the powerful habits that supported Midori-san this year.

  • Regular Exercise
    • This year, I started doing pull-ups, which helped me tone up, achieving a waist circumference of 67.5 cm. My posture improved, and remarkably, my height has increased for the fourth consecutive year.
    • Moreover, regular exercise enhances cognitive abilities, boosts stress resistance, and improves concentration. For more details, refer to the following:

  • Intense Stretching Before Sleep
    • This year, there were probably about three nights when I couldn't sleep well, which is clearly a positive trend. This improvement is thanks to intense stretching before bed. For more information, check here:

    • Unlike regular exercise, which requires consistent effort, this method offers immediate effects. Dear readers of Midori HP, I highly recommend you try it.
  • Studying English
    • This year, while studying English, I realized that... studying can be a stress reliever.
    • I've always known that engaging in creative activities helps alleviate stress—like drawing or programming. During such activities, the brain is highly occupied, leaving no room for negative thoughts. Therefore, I often turned to creative endeavors when I wanted to relieve stress.
    • I noticed a similar effect while studying English. Just like during creative tasks, my brain becomes busy with something other than negative thoughts. Additionally, I felt a sense of accumulating knowledge in my mind, which gave me a tangible sense of progress. This feeling was particularly strong when learning English vocabulary.
    • Starting to study not only eliminates worthless negative time but also transforms it into valuable time. This sensation is truly satisfying.

Have a Great Year Ahead

This year, I continued to be an individual with good posture, someone my younger self can be proud of. Thanks to running, my posture has improved significantly, and my height continues to increase. Next year will likely be another year of consistent, unchanging progress.
