Overview
Continuing from the last time.
Things I Tried This Month
- Shadowing one TED Short
- Second round of the vocabulary book "Distinction 2000"
- Keeping an English diary
- Listening to English YouTube videos
- Shadowing English YouTube videos
- This month, I tried making a video of the above activities. It was a lot of fun.
- This is the video I used as a reference. Davi Vasc reacts to and analyzes Touhou music. It's very enjoyable.
Thoughts
- Shadowing is fun. Like karaoke, using my voice is a great stress reliever, so I enjoy it for that reason as well.
- Distinction 2000 has become a fun daily routine because I can feel myself learning new words. It's exciting to encounter words from the book during shadowing (like "intriguing" and "amplify") or to see words from The Japan Times that also appear in the book (like "lined up" and "at large").
- But I guess I should start doing listening practice tests again soon?! It's fun, but I need to see if it's actually effective. Studying is enjoyable, and I'm even creating videos as a form of output, but if I keep this up, Guts from Berserk might say, "Or are you planning to study for decades and become a master before you tackle practice tests? That's a long-term plan."
- N-no, that's not what I meant!! (sweat)
