English Diary
This time, I’ll introduce one of my English diary entries. I follow these steps for my English diary:
- Write it myself
- Have ChatGPT proofread and correct it to make it sound more natural
- Summarize the useful points for future reference
What I Wrote
As there was the Marine's day, a national holiday in Japan, last weekend was three day holidays. During this, I could do quite a few things such as ... went for a 15km running, played a new RPG, had a funny conversation with my usual friends and talked to new friends from university days. We saw each other on Discord, where we had an English studying session and played some games, which was fun.
Corrected Version
Last weekend was a three-day holiday because it was Marine Day, a national holiday in Japan. During this time, I managed to do quite a few things like... I went for a 15km run, played a new RPG, had some fun conversations with my usual friends, and caught up with some old university friends. We met on Discord, had an English study session, and played some games. It was really fun.
Points to Use in the Future
From the above example...
- When I want to use "during this," I should use "during this time."
- When I want to use "could," I should try replacing it with "managed."
...like this, summarizing in the way of "when I want to say ..., I should try saying it like this" is useful.
Impressions
- I tried listening exercises for the first time in a while and...I could listen until the end... I wrote in May that I couldn't do listening at all and couldn't even listen until the end (because I couldn't understand anything, so I couldn't solve the problems), which is why I started studying English. Well, I got good scores this time, but I did it slowly with my friends and just got lucky with my guesses.
- Over the past three months, I’ve been exploring study methods that suit me, and they’ve become stable. The study methods I'm using now are enjoyable, I feel like English is accumulating inside me, and they suit me.
